An instrument you play with your state of mind
Make music with your brainwaves.
Thanks for visiting MindWave at Innovation Night.
How it plays
MindWave is an expressive instrument, not a wellness tracker.
A sensor at the back of the head picks up the rhythm that grows when you relax with your eyes closed, and sends it to music software (Ableton, Max, TouchDesigner) like any other controller.
What you tried
One sensor at the back of the head and a small sensor on the earlobe, on a small board. The music was played live on a research EEG headset; the prototype you wore is the instrument we're building.
About $100 of off-the-shelf parts today; planned at $249.

Where it's going
An instrument for performers and media-arts classrooms.
A musical instrument in development, not a medical device.
